Our process

Initial Xero File Review

When you engage us as your bookkeeping team, we wish to be as transparent with you as possible. Before entering a fixed-fee monthly bookkeeping package, we will review and audit your Xero file, and provide you with a “health check/diagnosis.” This process allows us to gain greater insight into your business, review historical data, point out any discrepancies, and provide process improvements and recommendations moving forward.

Health check items include:

  • Bank Balance Reconciliation: Xero vs PDF Bank Statements

  • Review Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Review Bank Reconciliation Summary

  • Bank rules review

  • Review GST/GST Free transactions

  • Review Chart of Accounts

  • Review Clearing and Suspense Accounts

  • Review external software integration (s)

  • Review Stripe/PayPal accounts

  • Review prior years' STP finalisation

  • Review payroll

FEES

Bookkeeping Hourly Rate

Once we have completed the health check, we will provide you with a report outlining any discrepancies (if any). We will provide a brief time and cost to get your file in top condition. Bookkeeping clean-ups will be charged hourly, $99 per hour inc GST, and 50% of the fee will be required upfront. We accept credit cards, excluding surcharges and bank transfers.

Our ad hoc and clean-up bookkeeping hourly rate is $99 per hour, inc GST; we generally work with you in your business for the first eight weeks to better understand your systems and processes before entering into a fixed-fee monthly retainer.

Peace of Mind + BAS Lodgement

(For those who prefer to DIY their business bookkeeping)

• Monthly Xero review for up to 2 bank accounts
• Lodgement of quarterly Business Activity Statements
• Quarterly 30-minute online Zoom meeting
• Email support

Are you managing your own bookkeeping but want peace of mind knowing that your Xero file is reviewed by an experienced Xero bookkeeper and registered BAS agent each month? Let us review and support you monthly, provide feedback, and take the BAS lodgement burden off your shoulders.

Please note: 

The client is to take action on any transaction changes. The file must be ready for review by the 15th of each month. A monthly subscription will be established via Stripe and debited on the 1st of each month. The pro-rata amount will be invoiced directly. This excludes businesses using online payment gateways such as Tyro, Eway, eBay, Amazon, and PayPal. Stripe is okay, proving read-only access is provided.
